Testing the new Samsung CLP-300N

The Samsung CLP-300n means to be a great printer on paper, it offers high quality colour laser printing at the price of an inkjet printer. Its one thing being cheap to buy but laser printer cartridges are notoriously expensive to buy so in order for the CLP300n to suit the small business user it’s aimed at it needs to be affordable in terms of running costs. Samsung CLP-300n toner cartridges are affordable and the reason for this is that they are smaller than the average Samsung toner cartridges and this means they yield less pages (2,000 pages black, 1,000 pages each colour) but still manage a reasonable cost per page of 2p and 10p for black and colour printing respectively. The CLP-300n produces good printing speeds for monochrome documents with 16ppm but colour printing speeds as a less than impressive 4ppm. The CLP-300n is not lacking in terms of print quality however, thanks to its high 600 x 2400 print resolution the prints it produces are sharp and full of vivid colour on all types of media and all types of documents. All the features of the CLP-300n are easy to use, installing the machine takes just a few minutes and changing the easily accessible printer cartridges is hassle and mess free. Overall it’s a great little printer will a lot to offer especially when you consider it is network ready and can be shared between a small workgroup if required.
